You can read my article from June entitled Open Source Ops: Covfefe Disclosure is Paramount and then if you read articles about Public Authority Liability you'll see, they don't really have a choice. All this acting in bad faith on their part is needless, just opening them up for personal liability. But now that the Privacy Commissioner himself has weighed in with his extortion, the stakes, they grow higher.
